The Services Union and portable long service leave

Today on the show we were joined by The Services Union's lead organiser for social and community services workers, Justine Moran. Justine filled us in on the campaign to get portable long service leave, as well as some of the issues confronting social and community service workers in the industry.

First up though we give updates on first nations workers' actions happening across the country, in particular, the Djab Wurrung Heritage Protection Embassy, as well as the campaign to Save Deebing Creek Mission - who are holding a working bee this weekend, head on out there if you are free!

The Workers Boom 2: Electric Boogaloo

This week, we once again fill in for Cam and Roo on Echo Boom to bring you a 3 hour episode of Workers Boom 2: Electric Boogaloo.

We speak to United Voice Lead organiser Linda and Delegate Kirsty to talk about some of the issues facing Early Childhood Educators as well as the efforts being by the union to organise and fight for better pay and conditions - The Big Steps Campaign.

In the second half of the show, we discuss United Voice's endorsement and decision to actively partake in the climate strike this coming Friday, as well as why it is a union issue, and something that all workers need to act upon.

Lastly we have a suprise visit from ETU rank and file member and O-I Glass striker Jesse, who joins us as we read out this weeks workers actions, and reveal our scallywag of the week - ENCO Seventeen Mile Rocks manager, Steven James!
